In the era of social media communication, Facebook is the most popular social media platform in the world. Now, Facebook is being troubled over data misuse over Cambridge Analytica scandal. It is claimed that over 87 million Facebook users’ data is being wrongfully used as a political analytics firm, Cambridge Analytica. The public had learned about this in the last march; the wall street journal reported recently that the federal trade commission approved a whopping five billion dollar settlement with Facebook on Friday.
The settlement was approved along party lines through a voting system. In that voting, 2 of the democrats wants to include tougher oversight for Facebook while three democrats have voted for the fine. The decision is yet to be approved by the department of justice to be final whether Facebook will be fined or not.
