Edelweiss Ventures is a financial services company and also an investment firm which was founded in the year 1995. It was incorporated by Rashesh Shah with a vision to start a firm that would offer investment solutions and financial services to corporates as well as individuals. Inspired by Apple, the founders decided to name the company after a flower. In the year 2000, the organization became a merchant bank. In the year 2007, the company launched real estate funds and also incorporated Edelweiss Global Wealth Management. In the year 2010, the company Anagram Capital was acquired by Edelweiss for more than INR 160 crore. In the year 2011, Edelweiss, in a joint venture with Tokio Marine, established Edelweiss Tokio’s life Insurance and had nearly 75% of the stakes in the company.
In the years 2014, 2016, and 2017, the company acquired Forefront Capital Management, JP Morgan Asset Management India, and Rooshnil Securities, respectively. The company has a strong network of authorized brokers, clients, and employees across the country. It is also listed on all the major stock exchanges of India, including the Multi Commodity Exchange of India Limited, Bombay Stock Exchange, as well as National Stock Exchange.
