Deadliest day for US – Around 1,500 coronavirus deaths in 24 hours

According to Johns Hopkins University, the number of confirmed cases with the novel coronavirus in the United States surpassed 100,000 on Friday, with more than 1,500 deaths in a single day. The highest death toll globally since the pandemic began.   

  • US President Donald Trump on Friday urged people to cover their faces with homemade cloth masks when outdoors, stay indoors and practice social distancing for the next four weeks to win the fight against coronavirus pandemic.
  • He also stated in a White House news conference that the United States would produce 100,000 ventilators in 100 days along with face masks and other medical supplies.
  • The reason behind the US-facing shortage of Ventilators, PPE, and masks amid the Coronavirus crisis – many companies sold nearly 60% of medical products to China.

In the fight against deadly coronavirus, the US Army is fully prepared to fight the current situation, which is no less than like a war. The virus has affected a large number of people in the country so far. The infection can even spread when people speak as opposed to coughing and sneezing.

US Congressman Representative ‘Mike Kelly’ has been tested positive for coronavirus. He started observing mild flu-like symptoms earlier this week.

President Donald Trump promised federal support to all oil companies affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. He assured that the federal government would make plans in its Strategic Petroleum Reserve. American producers need to store oil that would fetch a high price in the future.
