Trump calls PM Modi, asks to release Hydroxychloroquine ordered by US

US President Donald Trump said he spoke to Prime Minister Modi. He requested to release Hydroxychloroquine. The United States orders the same after India banned the export of drugs last month. They further discussed how the two countries could work together to combat the COVID-19 pandemic.

  • They also talked about the significance of practices such as Yoga and Ayurveda. The purpose of being the physical and mental well-being of people in hard times.
  • On March 25, India’s Directorate General of Foreign Trade banned the export of Hydroxychloroquine. However, it said that specific shipments on humanitarian grounds be allowed to treat malaria patients.

Demand for HCQ

Hydroxychloroquine (HCQ) is used successfully in the treatment of numerous patients in New York. HCQ works along with a combination of some other potent drugs. Trump called HCQ a potential ‘game-changer’ for treating people suffering from the virus.

The US considered the worst suffers from deadly coronavirus across the world. Scientists in the country are racing against time to find a therapeutic cure to the coronavirus. So far, the infection has killed more than 65,000 people. It affected 1.2 million in more than 150 countries. 

Medical Health experts in the US have analyzed 100,000 to 200,000 deaths due to corona infection in the next four weeks. Shockingly, human-to-human transmission is spreading like wildfire in the United States. Trump’s recommendation to the public – ‘stockpiling and hoarding of drugs is unacceptable in any circumstances.’
